Stahle Construction |
| |
building respect |
| |
You’d expect a company that’s been in business
for over 50 years to have a loyal client base, but Stahle
Construction takes client retention to a whole new
level, reaching an incredible achievement of 85%
repeat business. As owner and president, John Preston
says, “Our long term view and careful selection of
clients and projects has resulted in our ability to
develop strong relationships that last a lifetime.” |
| |
Some corporate clients have depended on the
quality of Stahle for 35 years, and others exceeding
20 years. One client was faced with an unbelievable
deadline to demolish an old building and build a
new store on the site ... in 28 days. Stahle tackled the
challenge eagerly and committed to designing and
developing a construction technique that permitted
the project to be completed on time and on budget. |

Strong team |
| |
“We believe that anything can be done if
you have the right team, respected trades and an
unshakeable positive attitude,” John beams. “It sure
helps when so many of us have worked together
for so many years. The bigger the challenge, the
more we like it; no one has time to be bored here.” |
| |
One of the reasons everyone at Stahle is so
energized is the nature of the job. “Each day brings
new challenges and opportunities,” says Jesse
Buchan. “The one thing we can count on is the
unexpected. Like the HSBC building in Waterloo;
all was well until the pre-cast exterior panels didn’t
arrive according to schedule. Since that delivery
was on the critical path it should have stopped us
in our tracks. But we were all trained well by John.
Like water finding its own path, we went around
that obstacle and shifted our efforts without
missing a beat, meeting the client expectations.” |
| |
Quality legacy |
| |
That beautiful building, by the way, now stands
proudly at the corner of King and William, just
like the 1870’s Alexander House did in the early
days of Waterloo, as the signature welcoming
structure to the original core of the city. |
| |
“John has ingrained in all of us a strong sense
of responsibility for meeting deadlines,” Jesse
continues, “We simply don’t stop. He often says you
don’t lose until you give up ... so we never give up.”
Combine that with the dedication to perfection this
team exudes and their deeply ingrained belief that
‘you’re only limited by your imagination’, Stahle is
hard to beat. With their specialties of construction
management and project management they’re
ready for local projects of any size or shape. |
| |
Whether it’s interior design/builds like
Vincenzo’s, Mark Nunes Clothier and Bauer Kitchen
or complete projects like the HSBC office, all in
UpTown Waterloo, Stahle Construction is often called
upon to complete fresh concept buildings and spaces
throughout the region because of their track record. |
| |
When Tim Horton’s faced a challenge
... they called John. That call initiated a 12
month project, criss-crossing Canada to 1,834
locations. That’s dedication. This opened up
the country for Stahle, resulting in projects
in every province during the past 3 years. |
| |
Everyone here clearly has a passion for
the construction business and they all share a
common drive that kicks into high gear when
they hear someone claiming something cannot
be done. “Those are the projects that we really
set our teeth into,” John grins. “Be warned of the
consequences of telling us a project ‘can’t be done’.” |
